After the tremendous success here at Junction over the past couple of months, our new season is set to be even bigger and better. The January to March 2010 programme is packed with exciting cinema, theatre, live music and more. The season was officially launched on Tuesday 29th December, with brochures flying off the shelves and tickets selling fast.
The film programme is already well under way, with showings of Broken Embraces, Up and New Moon, Bright Star, 2012, District 9, A Serious Man, Where the Wild Things Are and Bunny and the Bull all coming soon. For screening times click on the programm tab above or pick up a leaflet from the box office.
Live highlights this season include Richard Digance, star of Dictionary Corner on Channel 4’s Countdown, a special one-off showcase by Castaway Music Theatre, a new piece of contemporary dance by Retina Dance Company, Potted Pirates performed by CBBC presenters Dan and Jeff, plus the return of the ever popular Lip Service with their new show Move Over Moriarty.
This season we are also championing participation in the arts, with a whole host of ways to get involved at the venue. Arts and Crafts sessions will accompany most of the children’s shows throughout the coming months, with professional workshop leaders running sessions on Saturday mornings. There’ll also be a special workshop with photographer Ben Osborne, who has recently worked with the BBC on Planet Earth (see brochure). Junction’s weekly groups will begin this week: Electric Youth Theatre, School of Rock and Vocalise Youth Music will continue to run, alongside the new additions of Salsa Sessions (Mondays: 11th Jan – 8th Feb) and a five-week Art Course (Mondays: 22nd Feb-22nd March). Salsa is selling very quickly and anyone interested is advised to book in advance. For further details of groups and weekly activities, click on the Participate tab.
There are also a number of classes, workshops and drop-ins run by external groups from Goole and the surrounding area, who are taking advantage of the new venue and the fantastic facilities. East Riding Youth Dance, Healthy Body & Mind Group, Stagedoor Academy and Cruse Bereavement Care will all be calling Junction home over the next few months.
We feel sure that there is something for everyone in the new brochure and we look forward to seeing you here at Junction in the near future.

Article In The Independant
By AnonymousWhy do people continue to put our arts centre down?
Surely they should see that something from our town has made it into a national newspaper as it is the frontrunner for a prestigious award?
Has the naysayer on there that was badmouthing it ever been, my guess would be no.
We have a fantastic facility, with an excellent theatre and magnificent cinema. To claim that the films are "months old" is rubbish, Avatar was on at the same time in Goole and Cineworld in Castleford.
If the person in question took time out of his busy day trawling websites looking for things to moan about and actually visited The Juntion, my guess would be that he would become a regular, like a lot of others.
All you need to do people is give it a chance.
A big well done and thanks from me from all the staff that have worked so hard to make The Junction such a success.
