IOU Theatre
The sound of natural forces transformed into music
Thursday 16th September 2010 - Saturday 18th September 2010

Sounds captured in the natural world and sounds produced by experiments using a variety of
phenomena, including static electricity, liquid nitrogen and water vapour, will be manipulated into a musical soundscape by electronic music composer, Dan Morrison.

Over a three day residency at the theatre, you will be able to see how the music is made and explore the whole process with a close-up view of IOU artists and technicians creating the sounds. With state of the art computer sound-manipulating software and using an
extraordinary mixture of apparatus, from Victorian laboratory equipment to the microscopic sound analysis of a fizzy drink, Dan will create a soundscape which can be heard developing over the three days.

Alongside this process, a web based version using online software will allow you to experiment with the same sounds created by IOU, enabling you to make your own soundscape.
This installation will take place in Junction'smain auditorium. It is FREE to enter and will be open at the following times, during which you are free to come and go as often as you like:
