A festive feel will soon be in the air as the town’s Christmas Lights are switched on along with a Christmas Market on the first weekend of December.
The town’s Christmas displays are set to be switched on on Friday 1 December. Entertainment will be provided, from 6pm, on Boothferry Road high street by local favourites The Numbers. With the Christmas Tree lights switched on at 6.30pm by the Mayor of Goole, Cllr David Jeffreys.
After last year’s successful market, Two Rivers Community Pantry and Goole Town Council once again join forces to host a Christmas Market.
The market – which will be held in Goole Market Hall – is designed to showcase the offer of local traders. It will consist of food and drink stalls, crafts and gifts, along with a whole host of entertainment for all the family.
The hope is that shoppers will turn up, spend time browsing the stalls and high street ticking off their gift lists. After that, there’s the opportunity to take a break enjoy some food from local vendors and drinks from local bars whilst taking in performances from local musicians.
The Christmas Market will run from 3pm to 8pm on Friday 1 December, and from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 2 December.
Two Rivers Community Pantry runs a social supermarket in Goole Town Centre, providing food at low cost and support to those who need it. The Christmas Market has been made possible through funding from the Do It For East Yorkshire administered by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. In addition, funds raised through the Goole Car Boot events in West Park throughout the year have been used to support the Children’s Disco and Market.
Any traders interested in being involved can apply for a stall at junctiongoole.co.uk/goole-christmas-market-trader-application
