The concert opens with Schubert‘s dramatic miniature Quartettsatz, before Janáček‘s deeply personal and emotionally charged Intimate Letters. The evening culminates in Schubert‘s iconic Death and the Maiden – a gripping work of extraordinary power, beauty and intensity that remains one of the pinnacles of the chamber music repertoire.
Throughout the evening, the musicians introduce the works from the stage, offering fascinating insights into the music and the stories behind it, making this an engaging experience for seasoned concertgoers and newcomers alike.
A wonderful opportunity to hear the world-class classical musicians from Music in the Round’s “polished and passionate” (The Arts Desk) Ensemble 360, performing live in Goole, bringing virtuosity and insight to three unforgettable works.
This concert will run approximately 80minutes, including a 20 minute interval.
