Rupert Everett directs and stars, this is a biographical drama telling the untold story of the last days in the tragic times of Oscar Wilde. Freshly released from prison after a conviction for ‘gross indecency’ and living in exile on the continent, Wilde resumes his disastrous affair with the duplicitous Lord Alfred ‘Bosie’ Douglas. Neglecting his friends, children and incensed his wife Constance, flashbacks draw a portrait of his life – from loves and glory days to the squalor and torment of exile. Entering deeper into his imagined world, inhabited by the ‘happy prince’, Oscar must face a lonely discovery – that love is the only thing worth worshiping in this powerful parable of passion and redemption.
