Experience an unforgettable evening melding classical music for string quartet and choir with electronic sounds from outer space against the backdrop of Luke Jerram’s stunning Helios installation.
This evening features the Goole 200 Community Choir, a group of singers specially brought together by Music in the Round and Junction for this unique performance, inspired by the wonder of Helios and in celebration of Goole’s 200th anniversary year.
Phaedra Ensemble is a London-based collective pushing the boundaries of contemporary chamber music in bold and imaginative ways. Known for innovative performances, they curate cutting-edge new works alongside modern classics from the last hundred years.
This event is part of the Junction Classical Music Series 2026/27 with Music in the Round. Sun Rings was originally commissioned by the NASA Art Program with the ground-breaking leading contemporary Kronos Quartet.
This concert will run approximately 1hr 55minutes, including a 25minute interval.

Join The Goole 200 Community Choir
Singers from across the East Riding, don’t miss this incredible chance to take part in an unforgettable performance of Terry Riley‘s Sun Rings beneath Helios – Luke Jerram‘s stunning sculptural sun.
Rehearsals will be held from 6pm – 8pm at Junction Goole. You will need to be able to make at least 3 rehearsals, plus the performance on Thu 1 October.
