The true story of dancer Rudolf Nureyev’s defection to the West from the Soviet Union in 1961. The iconic dancer, a member of the world-renowned Kirov Ballet Company, is on tour in Europe. Living for the first time outside of the restrictions of Soviet Union, his unruly behavior causes the KGB agents who watch his every move to demand his return to Leningrad. The young dancer is forced to make a heart-breaking decision, one that may change the course of his life forever and put his family and friends in terrible danger. Charting Nureyev’s poverty-stricken childhood to his fame following his infamous defection, this is the incredible story of a unique artist who transformed the world of ballet forever.
