Television regular Hal Cruttenden will join star of Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week and 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Rosie Jones, along with resident compere Tim FitzHigham, for the second FREE Your Place Comedy live streamed show of 2021.
One of the most in demand acts of the past decade, Hal has been a Have I Got News For You guest on no fewer than four occasions, hosted Live At The Apollo, starred in The Royal Variety Performance and appeared as a regular panellist on Mock The Week alongside dozens of other TV and radio credits, from Celebrity Mastermind to Would I Lie To You? He has written and starred in his own sitcom, Hal, on Radio 4, undertaken five national stand-up tours and performed at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, New Zealand Comedy Festival, Montreal’s Just For Laughs and the Edinburgh Festival where he was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
Rosie is one of the fastest rising new stars on the comedy circuit. After placing second at the Leicester Mercury New Comedian Of The Year Award in 2018 she has gone on to star in Live At The Apollo, The Jonathan Ross Show, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mock The Week, The Last Leg, Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and Hypothetical, as well as presenting her own Channel 4 travel show, Mission: Accessible, and appearing as a panellist on Question Time. Rosie has completed two sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival, written for the second series of Netflix smash Sex Education and recently made her primetime acting debut in a two-part Silent Witness special, and as Penelope Lawrence in the BBC’s Shakespeare & Hathaway.
Hosted by Tim FitzHigham (writer and star of Radio 4’s The Gambler, presenter of CBBC’s Super Human Challenge and Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominee), Your Place Comedy presents warm, intimate and unique live streamed shows mixing chat and stand-up. The project has been put together by a group of 12 small, independent theatres and arts centres from across Yorkshire and the Humber, supporting performers and continuing to bring live entertainment to their audiences during some challenging times.
The event is FREE to watch but there will be an option to donate if you have enjoyed the broadcast, with all money raised being distributed equally among the participating venues (including this one!) as they continue to face significant difficulties presenting live events.
