Join multi-award winning star of The Chase, and BBC TV and radio regular, Paul Sinha, alongside Radio 4 News Quiz host and frequent Mock the Week panellist, Angela Barnes, for another FREE live streamed show hosted by resident Your Place Comedy compere, Tim FitzHigham.
Paul has appeared on BBC 5 Live’s Fighting Talk and Radio 4’s Just A Minute, The News Quiz, The Now Show, Loose Ends and his own Rose d’Or winning series Paul Sinha’s History Revision, as well as BBC2’s QI and Dave’s Taskmaster. A lifetime of curiosity and learning informs Paul’s comedy, and this has led to a concurrent career as a general knowledge expert on the ITV quiz show The Chase, as well as victory in the 2019 British Quizzing Championships! A former winner of the BBC New Comedy Award, Angela Barnes has presented four series of BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Newsjack, and recently guest hosted a series of BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz. She has appeared on BBC2’s Live at the Apollo and is a regular panellist on Mock the Week. Both Paul and Angela have had multiple sold out runs at the Edinburgh Festival, which would have been celebrating its closing weekend as this show takes place.
Hosted by Tim FitzHigham (writer and star of BBC Radio 4’s The Gambler, presenter of CBBC’s Super Human Challenge and Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominee), this is the fourth live streamed show from a group of small, independent theatres and arts centres in northern England, supporting performers and continuing to bring live entertainment to their audiences during these difficult times.
The event is FREE to watch but there will be an option to donate if you have enjoyed the broadcast, with all money raised being distributed equally among the supporting venues (including this one!), who continue to navigate their way through some challenging financial times with no live performances likely to take place on their stages for many months to come.
