If you’re an education provider looking for activities and enrichment opportunities for your students, or would like to get involved with events at Junction we have a range of options available. Please see below for more information about our work with schools and if you have any questions please get in touch.
Every year we work with a Goole Primary School to develop the TakeOver Festival, where all of our events for 2 weeks are chosen and promoted by the children. More information about TakeOver can be found here or please contact Nicola Dixon to express your interest on behalf of your school.
Junction is able to support a wide range of curriculum and enrichment projects including:
- Literacy Projects
- Film & media projects
- Topic projects
Recently we began working with Parkside Primary and Kingsway Primary on a literacy project, which included a visit from Highly Sprung’s Urban Astronaut!
For more information on what we can offer, or to discuss your ideas, please contact Nicola Dixon.
Visits & Tours
We are able to arrange venue visits and backstage tours for local schools and groups. Please contact Helen Tawn for more information.
Junction is proud to support the Into Film Festival and offer special screenings for schools as part of the festival.
Into Film has confirmed funding for another round of CPD for teachers and TAs to use film making in the classroom. Thanks to this, we are able to offer training to local schools, please click here for more information.
We are taking reservations now, so please get in touch as soon as you can, as places are limited. We will prioritise schools that can confirm their attendance for all four sessions.
Sessions will take place on Tuesday 8 November, Tuesday 6 December, Tuesday 10 January 2017 and Tuesday 7 February 2017, each running from 1.30pm to 4pm here at Junction.
We’d like to use the final part of each afternoon as an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, experiences or difficulties they might have had, creating a network and support group for film making across the curriculum.
The Film Space
The Film Space is an online film education resource from the Film Distribution Association, focusing on how films connect with their audience, which we recommend for teaching about film.
Arts Award & Artsmark
Young people taking part in our weekly groups and annual TakeOver Festival are able to work towards their Arts Award. We are also an Artsmark venue, and are able to support schools or groups to achieve their Arts Award. Please contact Nicola Dixon for more information.
Junction has a number of spaces available to hire, perfect for staff training, film screenings, performances and award ceremonies. For more information on the spaces available and technical specifications please visit Our Spaces.
