Art Class: Indonesian Shadow Puppets

The culture of the Southeast Asian country of Indonesia is the inspiration for this class. The Wayang shadow puppet theatre shows from the island of Java depict mythologies and legends, and often run from midnight to dawn.

In this two hour workshop, you will design and make your own shadow puppet based on ancient Javanese characters using a range of materials and techniques.
