CHRIS WASHINGTON
Wigan born Chris began performing comedy in 2012 and in 2017 made his Edinburgh Fringe debut with his self-produced show Dream Big (Within Reason) after taking all his annual leave in his full-time job as a postman. The gamble paid off and Chris received a nomination for Best Newcomer despite having no management, promoter or PR. A feel-good underdog story which he describes as getting five numbers and the bonus ball on the comedy lottery.
Six months later, Chris posted his last letter, calling it day on a glittering 10 year career as a postman. He made his TV debut on BBC1 with a 30 minute stand up special Live from the BBC. Likened to a “Peter Kay for the smart phone generation”, Chris has also appeared on Mock the Week, House of Games, Stand Up for Live Comedy (BBC) and The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2) as well as hosting a podcast and radio shows for Radio X.
A regular on the UK comedy circuit, Chris can be found at comedy clubs across the land as well as being a support favourite for the likes of John Bishop, Jason Manford, Kevin Bridges, Milton Jones and Jonathan Pie.
ANDY WHITE
Andy is an energetic, confident and silly Brummie who combines silly voices and a mad afro to devastating comic effect. Andy has numerous media appearances, including the BBC New Comedy Awards on BBC Choice, Brand Spanking New on BBC Radio 7 and his winning performance on the Weakest Link comedian’s special! His appearance on the BBC quiz show featured in his five star (* * * * * Three Weeks) Edinburgh show, It Started With A Quiz in 2007. This followed on from his well-received one man show at the 2005 Leicester Comedy Festival: Young, Gifted and Beige.
MARTIN DAVIS
Looking like some bizarre marionette tug-of-love struggle between Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, Martin Davis skids and bounces across the stage, strung up and tugged around by unknown forces, firing off a relentless rapid-fire assault that hits every corner of the room and kills 100% of all known hecklers stone dead.
Going where mere joke-tellers fear to tread with his characteristic kamikaze bravado (Go on, heckle me) he walks the razor edge of audience participation, daring them to pick him off it. His skill in warming up the chilliest rooms and turning the stoniest punters into soft putty in his hands makes Martin the comic’s favourite compere. With enough nervous energy to power a small city, Martin is the Jolt Cola of the circuit. Consumer advice would read: connect up the microphone, shout “Clear!” and stand well back!
KEVIN PRECIOUS
Our brilliant barnstorming MC for the evening is Kevin Precious. Kevin has been a full time stand-up comedian since the mid-noughties. He has performed at most of the top clubs in the country, and his travels have taken him to further flung destinations including Amsterdam, Maastricht, Budapest, Bucharest, Dublin and Ibiza.
“Kevin’s stage charisma and poise set him head and shoulders above the previous acts” – The Times
