Can’t Stop Carrying On

“Certain sections of the press seem to have sore misgivings about my plans. I told them to put some talcum powder on them. It’s time to Carry On Regardless!”

An ageing film producer gets one last shot at reviving his past cinematic glories – by bringing back Carry On for a new generation. But is there still a place for saucy seaside humour, double entendre, and cheeky innuendo?

Haunted by past success and the ghosts of friends long gone, he’s determined to secure his legacy with the ultimate comeback. But should some things be left in the past? Has Carry On had its day, or could it still raise a laugh in modern Britain?

A sharp, affectionate tribute to one of the most successful film franchises in British cinema history, this new one-man play explores ageing, changing attitudes, and the human drive to leave a mark.

Written by James Nicholas, one actor – Darren Haywood – takes on the role of Peter Rogers, the legendary producer behind all the Carry On films, as well as every Carry On star in this ‘truly breath-taking feat’ (Bum On A Seat review).

The show was nominated for Best Show at the Fringe in the OffFest Awards and earned the coveted Fringe Sell-Out Show accolade.
