Simon Annand

The Half

When The Half is called backstage, it is the start of a 35-minute countdown to an actor facing the audience… and there is no escape.

Over 25 years, world-renowned photographer Simon Annand has been given unprecedented access to photograph actors in this in-between world that the audience never sees.

Our latest exhibition features the artist’s most iconic images of the stars of British theatre (including Judi Dench, Olivia Coleman, Cate Blanchett, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Daniel Radcliffe, and Stephen Fry).

Please check this page for up-to-date times that the full exhibition is available to view, as on some days the rooms may be inaccessible due to private events.
