A Festival curated by Goole Amateur Operatic And Dramatic Society and presented in association with Junction Goole, celebrating a 120 year legacy in the limelight…
Goole Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society has a BIG birthday to celebrate. As they turn 120 they are taking over our venue and programme to bring you an extravaganza of events marking this incredible milestone.
As part of Junction’s Takeover Community Project there will be a number of events including gala performances, exhibitions and workshops.
This celebration is being created with Junction, industry professionals and, of course, the dedicated and passionate company of Goole Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society.
So join with us as we raise a toast to what has made GAODS what it is for the past 120 years – and counting!
GAODS 120 is supported by Arts Council England, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Goole Town Council.
Founded in a town shaped by industry and community, GAODS has become a cornerstone of Goole’s cultural scene, growing alongside the town itself. This year, as Goole marks its bicentenary as a port town, this celebration becomes a moment when histories meet – 200 years of a town, and generations of stories and song brought to life by our society. A mainstay of Goole for more than a century, GAODS has reflected the spirit of the town on stage and behind the scenes, filling Goole’s theatres and variety halls – some now lost to time – with music and drama, joy and applause. Today, Junction is proud to be their home, ensuring this remarkable tradition, and the ability for local talent to “tread the boards”, continues well into the future… Here’s to the next chapter.
