Measuring six metres in diameter, Luke Jerram’s Helios features detailed imagery of the sun’s surface. At an approximate scale of 1:230 million, each centimetre of the internally-lit spherical sculpture represents 2,300 kilometres of the sun’s surface.
A programme of special events is being planned around Helios, including music concerts, workshops and events.
Helios is presented by East Riding of Yorkshire Council with support from Arts Council England as part of Goole 2026.
