Arts Award is a range of unique qualifications that supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form – from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry.
By progressing through the five levels, young people get to:
*discover the enjoyment of creating and participating in arts activities
*experience arts events
*develop creative and communication skills that are essential for success in 21st century life
*explore the work of artists and craftspeople and gain insights into the professional arts world
*gain experience and knowledge to help progress into further education and employment

In 2018 Junction worked in partnership with Boothferry Primary School and Kingsway Primary School through a Children and the Arts and IVE funded project which delivered 165 Arts Awards.
Artsmark is the creative quality standard for schools, accredited by Arts Council England. It provides a clear framework for teachers to plan, develop and evaluate arts, culture and creativity across the curriculum. Schools follow an application process and are awarded Silver, Gold or Platinum.
Regional support to schools is offered by Arts Council Bridge organisations, for Yorkshire this is IVE.
Junction, an Artsmark Partner
Junction works very closely with schools in its locality, linking in with the Goole Area Schools Partnership and is a lead partner on the East Riding LCEP. We are able to offer support for schools wishing to become Artsmark Schools.
We can do this by:
*Termly Art Co-ordinator/Music Co-ordinator meetings, a chance to meet other teachers and Artsmark schools
*one to one support for local schools to develop Statement of Commitment and Case Studies
