Current opportunities
Volunteer as a Front of House Usher
Are you passionate about theatre and cinema, and looking to be part of a friendly, lively team? Join us as a Front of House Usher and help create a welcoming experience for our audiences.
What you’ll do:
As a live events venue and cinema, our programme changes on a daily basis – but your regular tasks would remain much the same. We’re looking for people who can:
– Check tickets and guide patrons to their seats.
– Ensure the smooth running of shows and films.
– Hand out promotional flyers as patrons leave the theatre.
– Be a friendly, approachable presence, supporting our audience members and helping with any questions they have.
What we offer:
– The chance to see live performances and films during your shift.
– Experience in customer service and front-of-house roles.
– The opportunity to be part of a supportive, inclusive team.
– Training, support, and guidance from our dedicated team.
– Whilst this is a voluntary position, you can also earn credits each shift which can be exchanged for tickets.
Who we’re looking for:
You will be:
– Friendly and approachable, and enjoy engaging with the public.
– Enthusiastic about theatre, film, and the arts.
– Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to occasional shifts, including evenings and weekends.
– Able to commit to at least one shift every two or three weeks – if you can offer more time, that’s fantastic!
– Open to learning and willing to follow our policies and procedures.
Our commitment to you:
– We recognise the value of volunteers and believe that volunteering is a two-way process – beneficial for you and us.
– We aim to reflect the diversity of our community and welcome volunteers from all backgrounds.
– We provide a safe and supportive environment and have clear policies to protect and support our volunteers.
– We offer training, ongoing support, and there are opportunities to develop your skills if you would like.
If you’re interested in joining us, please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you. You can contact Cheryl, our Admin Assistant who leads on volunteer co-ordination. Cheryl’s available on [email protected] or on 01405 763652 (between 9am and 2.30pm Mon-Fri). Cheryl will then arrange a time for you to pop into Junction for a chat over a brew, where we can find out more about you.
Please note that expressing an interest in volunteering does not guarantee a position. We aim to match volunteers with roles that suit their skills, experience, and availability, ensuring the best fit for both the individual and our team. If you are looking to volunteer to build your CV and find a route into work – our Junction Events Team (JET) programme may be a more suitable option.
