Cultural Crafting & Trunk Tales

Kicking off Takeover Festival 2024, is double bill of creative crafting and theatre!

Cultural Crafting:

From 5pm, the Young Producers of Boothferry Primary School will be manning art stations for a variety of imaginative crafts and creations, suitable for all ages – feel free to bring a pack-up tea to munch whilst you draw, paint, cut, and stick!

This is then followed by some family friendly theatre, courtesy of Tell Tale Hearts, bringing their show Trunk Tales. Take a seat amongst blankets and cushions at this cosy show, created to inspire children’s love of stories and enhance their knowledge of different cultures from around the world. Theatre seating also available.

Trunk Tales:

A well travelled lady arrives with her trunk of tales that tell of boastful toads, magical fish and fearsome beasts of the wild woods. Using only the contents of her magical trunk she will create Arabic seas; epic mountains; fields of turnips and the tallest trees. Inviting the children to become a part of the story they will help Abdullah to buy food for his family, find a suitor for the mouse bride and protect the brave bull calf from a terrible fate.
