Learn to weave a patterned mat in Peruvian colours.
Peru is the country with the longest tradition of textile production, which goes back over 10,000 years. The art of loom weaving started around 1400 BCE and the woven fabrics are used to signal class and status through the intimacy of patterns and the chosen colours.
In this two hour workshop, you will design a small mat inspired by Rainbow Mountain in the Andes, and then work with brightly coloured wool on a mini-loom to create your piece.
